Hello, My name is Dan, and I am a roadie. (Sometimes)
Ok, I’ll admit, I knew it would be an inevitable development in my own cyclosis, but a couple weeks ago, the day that made it official arrived.
I don’t know if it was these really light & purdy wheels we’ve got hangin’ around here, or seeing Solis and so much other amazing road-type stuff at Interbike this year; or maybe I had just been riding the rubust commuter for so long that I was lookin’ to go a bit faster on these huge, paved trails… But whatever it was, one call to our good friends at Solis and I was off to build the first ever L’B’ Road Machine!
Besides, looking into having more road offerings around here was long overdue. And what better way to take a closer look at such works of art as the M5 Brakes, RavX cartridges, Vredestein Tri-Comps, and of course, to build-up more Niobium KinLins than to build and ride a bike using them.
The result? This 16 lb custom Solis (not a bad weight for a 57cm frame built for a not-so-little rider, eh?).
How’s she ride? Fast! But that’s another post.
